Job Description
LRS Consulting Services is seeking a Pension Administration System Administrator for a long-term, fully remote contract engagement. This role supports the day-to-day administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of an enterprise pension administration platform and its integrations with HR, payroll, and third-party systems.
The system is going live in late 2026 with additional modules rolling out in the months following. The organization is also implementing Workday payroll and core HR during this same period, which will require ongoing integration and interface management between platforms. This is a critical role supporting mission-critical technology that drives benefit calculations, retiree payroll, member services, employer reporting, and core retirement operations.
What You Will Do
- Administer, maintain, configure, and monitor the pension administration platform, ensuring accurate interfaces with all connected systems
- Support and represent the retirement system's interests during Workday payroll and core HR implementations, including rebuilding interface files as needed
- Ensure system stability, data accuracy, performance, and security in accordance with organizational standards
- Coordinate, test, and validate system fixes, patches, releases, upgrades, and enhancements
- Develop, maintain, and manage bi-weekly interface files between internal and external systems and vendors
- Resolve system issues through troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Work with business units to analyze and improve workflows related to benefits, employer reporting, and accounting functions
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
- Develop and maintain a system administration knowledge-sharing site
- Oversee data integrity activities including audits, validation, and reconciliation
- Participate in the development of a broader data management plan across HR systems
- Develop and maintain reports, data extracts, dashboards, and queries
- Assist in planning and executing system-related projects and integrations
- Serve as a liaison with vendors, consultants, and external service providers
- Build and maintain system documentation, procedures, and user guides
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration, business systems analysis, or application support
- Experience with pension administration systems and related actuarial, benefits, and financial processes
- Knowledge of IT system management principles including change management, release management, and system lifecycle methodologies
- Experience with database concepts, data structures, and reporting tools
- Experience translating business needs into functional and technical specifications
- Experience managing data integrity processes such as audits, reconciliations, and quality assurance checks
- Ability to analyze complex technical and functional problems and provide effective solutions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
- Must reside in the United States
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Public sector or government system administration experience
- Experience supporting enterprise system integrations with Workday or similar HRIS/payroll platforms
- Experience with vendor relationship management and contract compliance
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to public retirement systems
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, and data extracts for operational reporting

The base range for this contract position is $100 - $130 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
