Job Description
Codeworks, an LRS company, is seeking a Desktop Suport/Patch Coordinator for a Contract opportunity. This role offers the chance to apply your skills in support of meaningful and security‑focused work for one of our client partners.
The Patch Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening and maintaining a cohesive patching and testing program. The environment includes a wide range of complex applications, and this role is responsible for assessing, improving, and documenting processes related to patching—especially where manual updates are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the desktop application maintenance team to review, refine, and document patch‑related processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency; when immediate improvements are not possible, document current practices and highlight areas for future enhancement.
- Partner with the Patching Technician to coordinate testing for new or emerging patches and document any discovered vulnerabilities or known exploits.
- Support the process used to verify that new patches are correctly installed, tested, and ready for broader deployment.
- Monitor non‑Ivanti software titles that may be more susceptible to vulnerabilities, regularly checking vendor websites for updates, alerts, and security notices.
- Apply a vulnerability management approach to ensure appropriate evaluation, prioritization, and mitigation of identified risks.
- Review federal software security notices and compare findings against software inventories to determine if patches or mitigation steps are required.
- Collaborate with colleagues across teams to ensure patching efforts are aligned and integrated with broader security and IT initiatives.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve patching processes and expand the ability to track and manage vulnerabilities more effectively.
