Job Description
Codeworks, an LRS company, is seeking a Business Analyst/Consultant III for a Contract opportunity. This role offers the chance to apply your analysis and solution‑delivery skills in support of meaningful initiatives for one of our client partners.
The Business Analyst responsibilities include analyzing business systems and user needs; aligning system capabilities with business strategies; identifying opportunities to improve efficiency; developing business process maps; evaluating solution options; supporting policy and procedure development; and ensuring quality assurance and testing activities meet agency standards. The role requires familiarity with a broad range of IT concepts, technologies, and practices. This position may provide guidance to others.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Process Improvement
- Lead or participate in teams to represent business needs to technical staff and communicate system capabilities to business stakeholders.
- Facilitate discussions with technical and business staff to clarify business rules, define system outputs, and support process design.
- Analyze and document business rules, requirements, system operations, and procedures.
- Review existing and proposed rules, policies, and procedures for impacts on business processes; recommend adjustments when needed to maintain compliance.
- Coordinate with program specialists and technical teams to clarify, revise, develop, and implement process descriptions and functional programming specifications.
- Document system and process changes and help develop new procedures and publications.
Issue Tracking & Solution Design
- Track system issues help desk ticketing, bug‑tracking, and IT request systems.
- Investigate and analyze system problems and propose solutions.
- Support the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), risk assessments, and solution evaluations.
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Coordinate, plan, and execute quality assurance activities for business systems, including reliability testing.
- Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures; document results and progress.
- Follow software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and DFI’s testing practices.
- Identify and analyze system issues, including recurring bugs or defects; recommend solutions.
- Document user‑acceptance criteria and conduct user/system acceptance testing.
- Provide clear feedback to business and technical staff related to enhancements, issues, and system behavior.
- Analyze business data integrity throughout project phases.
Required Skills & Experience (7+ years)
- Advanced knowledge of business analysis, including process documentation, process design, requirements gathering, and functional design.
- Advanced knowledge of quality assurance and software testing methodologies.
- Understanding of project management principles, methods, and practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels, including executive leadership.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks with attention to detail and minimal supervision.
- Strong professional conduct and ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
The base range for this contract position is $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors
