Job Responsibilities:
Seeking a Field Services Technician to support Global Technology (GT) Infrastructure projects for our client’s locations. This role is responsible for performing detailed site discoveries, documenting network and infrastructure readiness, and supporting implementation activities tied to IDMZ upgrades and lifecycle refreshes. The position requires both technical documentation expertise and hands-on capability with network infrastructure and cabling to address issues directly while onsite.

Key Responsibilities

Site Discovery & Documentation
Conduct full infrastructure discoveries, including:

  • Evaluating rack space availability and identifying corrective actions.
  • Mapping existing network infrastructure and verifying available documentation.
  • Completing enclosure documentation for MDFs, IDFs, and server rooms.
  • Recording rack elevations, switch ports, SFP details, and cable conditions.
  • Assessing HVAC and power (dual circuits, PDUs, UPS) for performance and redundancy.
  • Identifying and documenting all installed equipment (servers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
Hands-On Cabling & Troubleshooting
  • Perform network cable terminations, testing, and labeling during site visits.
  • Correct cabling deficiencies identified during discovery or implementation.
  • Support network troubleshooting during go-live and cutover phases.
  • Ensure all work adheres to Infrastructure Standards.
Implementation & Support
  • Participate in rack and stack deployments for servers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Provide on-site support during installations, troubleshooting, and system cutovers.
  • Make up to 2–3 trips per site (initial discovery, implementation, and go-live support).
Collaboration
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers and teams on scheduling, documentation, and rollouts.
  • Provide accurate reports and discovery documentation to stakeholders and managed service partners.
  • Support cross-team collaboration to ensure consistent infrastructure readiness.Offsite Duties
  • When not traveling, complete detailed documentation packages and assist with other Infrastructure initiatives as assigned.
Requirements:
Must have 5+ years' experience with the following:
  • Working in a enterprise network infrastructure (Cisco preferred).
  • Proven hands-on experience with network cabling installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with rack/stack work, power configurations (PDUs, UPS), and HVAC requirements.
  • Ability to assess and document complex network environments with accuracy.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 90–100%).
  • Experience collaborating with GT, OT, vendors, and managed service partners.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle physical tasks associated with rack and cabling work.
  • Comfortable working in manufacturing and plant environments.
  • Must follow safety procedures and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, and steel-toed footwear when applicable.
Workload Expectations
  • Approximately 50 site discoveries per year (averaging 2–3 locations per month).
  • Each site typically requires multiple visits (discovery, implementation, and go-live).
  • Majority of work will be on-site, with offsite periods dedicated to documentation and GT Infrastructure tasks.

The base range for this contract position is $25 - $55 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Colorado Pay Range:
25.00 - 55.00/per Hour
