LRS Consulting Services is seeking a Senior DevOps/Application Support Specialist for a long term contract opportunity with a right-to-hire for our client in St. Louis, MO!
As a front-line responder in a constantly changing ecosystem, this support team member is responsible for working with our clients internal and external resources to quickly and effectively diagnose and resolve issues affecting the stability of a platform responsible for generating millions of sales, through multiple channels.

This role provides critical support for 27 applications, services, and APIs supporting online ordering via customer facing platforms. This role is responsible for detecting, triaging, and resolving issues supporting availability and mean time to repair goals. Coordinates support and maintenance activities with afterhours offshore resources ensuring seamless support of critical ordering systems 24/7.
Key responsibilities include:
-Java application troubleshooting including thread and heap analysis. Understanding complex multi-application environments, which interact in a firewalled environment.
-AWS application troubleshooting experience to support on premises applications that are moving to AWS.
-Automation experience creating automation jobs in Jenkins, Ansible, or Puppet.
-Splunk log analysis for application troubleshooting developing adhoc queries on the fly to pinpoint application issues.
-AppDynamics to troubleshoot and monitor application health and performance. This would include investigation of business transactions, information points, and health rules to pinpoint application problems.
-Understanding of Application to Database interaction and troubleshooting. This would include Oracle and Mongo databases. Areas of understanding like JDBC connection utilization and troubleshooting, connection pool/query/cache optimization, ability to analyze DB reports like AWR and make recommendations.
-Supporting applications running in a Linux environment. Shell scripting for automation of administration tasks. Understanding of OS setting for app performance optimization, administration of Microservices, troubleshooting logging/forwarding issues.
-Excellent communication skills. Loud, clear, and easily understood by a diverse audience. Able to convey information to leadership and technical audiences.
-Providing technical assistance and working day-to-day with technical staff responding to alarms, triaging issues, and escalating appropriately. Constantly striving to improve team response.
-3+ years in an application support or DevOps related role
-Experience supporting Java and AWS applications
-Expertise with Splunk, AppDynamics, Datadog, Dynatrace, or similar preferred
-Must be able to work onsite 3 days per week in St. Louis, MO
