Cloud Infrastructure Architect (26414)

REMOTE REMOTE | Contract LRS Consulting Services is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Architect for an exciting contract opportunity with a client of ours. The Cloud Infrastructure Architect (CIA) role is responsible for creating, maintaining and optimizing the use of Cloud infrastructure to support multiple products and business lines. The CIA will gather and analyze requirements, make architectural and design recommendations, document and configure the Cloud environment to deliver the results needed. The CIA will be considered the subject matter expert on the Cloud environments (Azure and AWS). The CIA will directly work with the Infrastructure and Network engineers in a team-oriented environment. Determine the Cloud solution that provides the best opportunity for network performance, reliability, cost, and quality for the business initiative. Garner solid understanding of the business processes at Horace Mann and identify opportunities to perform certain processes more efficiently in the Cloud environment. CIA will produce documentation for leadership that can be consumed to make the appropriate directional decision. Determine how the Cloud solutions will be managed. Determine rules for segregation of duties between the Infrastructure, Networking, and Security teams. Document expectations and processes for each group. Cloud Architect will be responsible for creating virtual networks between Cloud and Horace Mann. Responsibilities: Senior-level role; operates autonomously, broad impact across multiple systems. Seen as a subject matter expert in design and maintenance of infrastructure and leads both Cloud and Internal infrastructure related initiatives. Provides consultation as technical and infrastructure expert on key business systems that are internal as well as Cloud specific. Responsible for infrastructure analysis, tuning, and measurement to ensure appropriate performance, reliability, and quality SLAs. Collaborates with the user community to design and implement technology solutions across multiple business functions; leads other infrastructure technologists to accomplish large complex implementations. o Able to plan and lead large size projects including coordination with other necessary groups inside and outside of IT. Real world experience with Docker, Kubernates and Terraform technologies. Security mindset for all environments, especially the Azure and AWS environments. CIA will provide guidance on how to properly configure storage buckets among other things. Expert level knowledge of infrastructure in applicable hardware, operating systems, and expert knowledge of configuring systems, appliances or software in support of critical infrastructure to support the business’s mission. Expert level knowledge in applicable scripting languages for the key focus area technologies supported. Identifies opportunities for new enterprise building blocks and patterns. Directs architects and technical leads to develop and consume defined building blocks and patterns. Responsibilities: The main duties of this role will include: Plan, manage and monitor the delivery of projects from project initiation to project closure Define and implement overall project governance structure and provide clear roles and responsibilities for the project team and key stakeholders Redefine and optimize business processes and organizational structures to support the implementation of the client's strategy Manage mid- to larger scales acquisitions, joint ventures & divestments Ensure that projects produce the required deliverables to defined standards of quality within agreed cost, time and other constraints Identify and manage risks and issues, including the development of contingency plans Manage 3rd party suppliers (where applicable) Requirements: Candidate must have the following experience: 3+ years of professional project management experience with a proven track record of successful project delivery is a requirement. LRS Consulting Services is seeking Firewall Network Engineers for a contract opportunity with a client of ours in Charlotte, NC! This team is responsible for the implementation, and operations, of firewalls across the entire network. Responsibilities: Advanced firewall change request fulfillment and troubleshooting Troubleshooting and response to network firewall incidents and problems Working with our internal customers to gather complex network requirements to be used in creating highly reliable and scalable networking designs Produce design documents such as Visio diagrams, IP spreadsheets, device descriptions and narratives Correlate detected network events to identify potential problems or root causes Assist application and system owners in troubleshooting problematic network dependent applications Participate in projects that involve existing network infrastructure as required Participate in a formal incident rapid response process for high priority incidents Collaborate with the team to insure that an incident's underlying problems are managed and resolved Implement network change in the context of incident resolution, problem management and service requests Be aware of and follow existing network management change procedures Work outside of normal business hours when required (scheduled maintenance, outage response, last minute urgent requests) Assist with network documentation tasks Essential Job Qualifications: 3+ years of progressive experience in networking and network security, including advanced firewalling, VPN's, enterprise routing and switching 3+ years in firewall technologies, preferably Juniper and Palo Alto, but other products like Cisco, Checkpoint can be considered. Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner Advanced level of familiarity in implementing and troubleshooting firewall technologies Expert understanding of popular network communications protocols such as DNS, RPC, HTTP Third-party candidates will not be considered.
